The mission of the One Health Club is to strive to facilitate inter-disciplinary collaboration with the goal of improving local and global communities through education, service, and community engagement.
Purpose
The One Health Club was designed to facilitate open discussion and collaboration between various disciplines studied at the University of Georgia in order to implement positive change in the local Athens, GA community and abroad. These fields include ecology, veterinary medicine, public health, human medicine, microbiology, pharmacy, law, sociology and economics to name a few, and we welcome graduate, professional, and undergraduate students of any fields to join in the discussion!
Objectives
Increase education and awareness of One Health activities and principles in the student population at the University of Georgia through lectures, clinical experiences, wet labs, and database maintenance.
Engage local and global communities through outreach, service projects, and education.
Start the conversation among undergraduate, graduate, professional students, faculty, and professionals of many disciplines through club meetings, social events, and research symposia.
